I Have Stress · Family & Children
The tension, the guilt, the reacting you swore you wouldn’t. It can ease, and it starts with calming you, not fixing them.
Few things weigh on us like friction with our children. The arguments that spiral, the walking on eggshells, the worry that never fully switches off, the reacting in a way you regret, and the guilt that follows. Maybe a child is struggling and you can’t seem to reach them, or the whole house feels tense. None of this means you are a bad parent. It means you care deeply, and your nervous system is carrying more than it can hold.
So much of what flares with our kids is old, the very triggers we absorbed in our own childhood, firing again in the present. When your nervous system settles, you stop reacting from that old place and start responding from a calmer, clearer one. Children also co-regulate with the adults around them, meaning their nervous system takes cues from yours. A calmer you helps settle them too, often without them knowing anything about the work you are doing.
In our sessions I help release those inherited triggers and reactive patterns at the root, using gentle approaches like The Release Technique, the MAP Method, and Transformative NLP to rewire the loops that keep pulling you back into the same reaction. What changes first is you. What changes next is the whole dynamic.
You don’t need every answer, and you don’t need your child in the room. Most people feel a real shift in the very first session, more patience, less reactivity, a little more ease at home, and I’ll show you simple ways to keep steadying yourself between sessions.
So much of what flares in the moment is old. The very triggers you absorbed as a child can fire again now, without you choosing it. Working with the nervous system, rather than only the thinking mind, helps interrupt that inherited pattern at the root, so you are responding from a calmer place instead of an old reflex.
Yes, more often than people expect. Children co-regulate with the adults around them, meaning their nervous system takes cues from yours. When you settle, your child often settles too, even without knowing anything about your sessions.
No. This work is done with you alone. Your child never needs to be present, or even aware that you are doing this work, for the dynamic between you to start shifting.
