Distant and fast anxiety relief, whether you are across town or across the world. Here is exactly what to expect, step by step.
No matter if you are coming in for stress relief, anxiety, insomnia, hurt or angry or sad feelings, work problems, relationship troubles, or family problems, you will want to dress in comfortable clothing. Loose fitting gym shorts and a loose cotton tank top or t-shirt work well, since we may include some gentle stretching, so please wear something that allows for that.
Why stretching? I believe stress and emotion can get stuffed within the layers of your tissue. Gently stretching the body helps release that tension, stress, and emotional holding. Many people notice a difference right away, in both body and mood, and feel utterly relaxed, calm, and at peace.
A few things to know beforehand: please skip lotion or cologne, since my senses are sensitive and it can interfere with the bodywork. Please also avoid alcohol or recreational drugs before your session, since these, and even some prescription medications, can affect how your body responds and can get in the way of your healing.
Through gentle bodywork paired with verbal coaching, I help you unravel and release the deeper conscious and subconscious patterns that have been keeping you from your normal, everyday life. By the time your session is over, what used to bother you no longer bothers you the same way, or has lessened greatly. You will feel at peace, calm, and relaxed.
We start with a short conversation, just a few minutes, so I can understand what is bothering you. If talking is not easy for you in the moment, text or email works too, so we can still get a clear picture together. From there, we might continue right into the session, or we may schedule a time for later. I work intuitively, and each person's session looks a little different, based on what is best for them.
Try to hold the session somewhere at home or at work where you can sit quietly and undisturbed, with no distractions. Closing your eyes can help you go deeper, though if you need to keep working and cannot close your eyes, that is perfectly fine too. Sitting quietly in your car or outdoors both work well as options. Having water nearby to drink during and afterward helps, and a warm bath with Epsom salt afterward can be soothing. For the full list of ways to prepare, see the Services page.
Phone and Zoom sessions can be more effective than meeting in person, simply because there is less to distract you. Please try to have your ringer off and any notifications quiet, without other people talking in the background, so we can stay focused together. For the fuller comparison between formats, including how a Zoom session can be recorded for you, visit the Services page.
Most people feel calm and at peace following a session, and positively ready to carry on with work, or with whatever the day holds, much more easily. For the full picture of what to expect in the hours and days that follow, including what to do if old feelings surface before they settle, visit the What to Expect After page.
