There were accusations that I "left the chameleon out, on the porch, in the hot California heat for hours to cause" his debilitated condition.
I went back and forth with Seller to make sure the shipping was done on a cool day.
I informed the Seller, (see screenshot on the left), of my intent to have the cham brought inside by a family member, to an air conditioned home immediately upon delivery, which I did at 10:30 am. I came home at 1pm to open the box.
I wrote instructions on Paypal to insure delivery on a day below 90 degrees. (See Paypal screenshot).
I texted Seller, on morning of delivery, to let me know when cham was delivered (see screenshot)
Tail, Husbandry, or Abuse Questions
For those that doubt that this video was taken at shipping arrival- you can hear in the video that I asked my granddaughter if she was recording from her Ipad. Below is the screenshot of Viber, where she sent me the video (from her dad, Justin's account)- Note the date of the video delivery. Also note that there was no lump near the left eye on the cham, which I first noticed on the day I gave cham to Jason Tillman.
Below also is screenshot of the arrival date & time:
Tail Coloration Shows on Smartphone, not Desktop Screen
Watch this video if you had questions about whether I injured the tail or performed inadequate husbandry.
The tail discoloration does not show on desktop screen very well. View from your phone
LOOK FOR DISCOLORATION NEAR TAIL TIP FROM A SMART PHONE THAT HAS BETTER DETAIL IN COLOR DISTINCTIONS
I took this video with the intent to post his arrival on the cham pages in Facebook, with video or camera shots (see my camera phone in the video all set to take pictures), like I did a day before, with the arrival of a baby NosyBe. (see screenshot). But because this cham did not appear healthy, did not look attractive, or look in anyway what I was expecting- I did not post in Facebook because I did not want to embarass the Seller or draw attention to a cham that looked like this.
Toward the end of the video you will see the discoloration of the tail, at the exact same location of the existing tail injury shown in the images produced by James Tillman upon receiving the chameleon from me. I did notice the tail was tightly wrapped around his own rear leg, while he was in bag during shipment.( I removed him from the bag again so she could take her video.)
This video shows you that the chameleon came to me with a problem with his tail already. It hadn't turned into a structural change yet, only in the initial color change, in a segment of the tail, before the breakdown of tissue which showed up later.
Note the severe dehydrated condition, and the lack of fat, of the chameleon was in upon receipt. Look at the tail of this alleged 6 months old male.
(The video is currently rendered "unlisted" in Youtube, it is not viewable to the public.)
"Is she a boy or a girl?" I was told I was getting a boy, but it was confusing because the box was labeled "girl Masaola". When I asked the Seller, he explained he recycles all of his shipping supplies, hence the "girl" label on the box. If so, I don't know if the bags of WC have been sterilized before re-use or not. (see screenshot)
When I informed Seller that cham was hardly eating, he told me that he eats 15 crickets a day (see screenshot) and that he was healthy and very active when he shipped him.
Proof I Videotaped Chameleon On Delivery
There are some people saying that I videotaped the cham, after I got him sick with poor husbandry.
# 1. This videotape was delivered to me on July 27th, via 'Justin's Viber text' (my granddaughter). - I got the cham on July 23rd. I texted Seller of his poor condition on July 23rd (see screenshot on the right).
# 2. Also, in the video, there is no swelling near the left eye- which showed up the day I returned cham.
I Did Not Delay Return of Chameleon
I was falsely accused of delaying the return of the chameleon. Initially, I was going to try and fund the treatment for chameleon, but it was difficult with no poop and he was in such poor condition -so I asked for refund and I wanted a quick return before chameleon's further deterioation. But I could not return because I was waiting on 2 things from Sellers. # 1. Seller delayed sending me back refund # 2. Seller told me to wait for his shipping materials to use for the return, shipping materials which never came. (See screenshots). It was good that I did not listen to this conditions from him for the return)
Seller is saying he will refund on the 29th Wednesday. He told me this 3 days after I received chameleon, showing on his text post, dated July 26th.
The reason he said for refund delay was that he did not have funds due to paying 2 house payments & cars.
My funds for purchase, to him, was sent to him on July 10th (see image). July 10th, when he recieved payment, to July 26th- when he was asked to refund, is 17 days-and he stated he could not refund . (Note: I did NOT get his refund on the 29th)
After 17 days from sending payment to Seller, Seller was not yet able to refund. This request was Day 3 of having cham.
